Mindfulness Meditation

Are you feeling stressed, busy, challenged by the demands of work and life? Could you benefit from a half-day retreat from the busyness of daily life without even leaving town?

Join us for an afternoon workshop on mindfulness meditation where we will have the opportunity to move out of the “stories” that can lock us into stress, and experience the freedom that comes from being fully present moment-by-moment in our bodies, hearts, and minds.

Mindfulness meditation invites us to be fully aware of the movement of our body, the sensations in walking, the sounds around us, and the thoughts and feelings that come into the mind. As mindfulness deepens, there is increased capacity for intimacy with the life within and around us. We are able to see through our conditioned behaviors and thoughts, and discover compassion, equanimity and freedom in our lives.

The workshop will include systematic instructions on posture, working with bodily sensations, breath, sounds, thoughts, emotions and mind states; and will include periods of yoga/movement and walking meditation, and opportunities for questions and discussion.  The workshop will be led by Hugh Byrne, PhD.
