Ashtange Yoga Workshop

 

This workshhop is for brand new or veteran students - this style of yoga will restore physical health, develop mental clarity and deeply detoxify the body and mind. The Primary Series called Yoga Chikitsa - translated from Sanskrit as Yogic Therapy, is specifically designed to bring the body into a healthy, strong and supple alignment.

The body heat generated in the practice has the power to literally move tendons, muscles and even bones into proper alignment healing the damage done over years of postural abuse. In this workshop, we cover the entire primary series, breaking down each pose for a deep analysis of alignment and form.

The Instructor

Para Darin Somma has studied meditation for over fourteen years and has immersed in a study of tantra for the past four. His education of asana includes a wide range of renowned teachers such as Beryl Bender Birch, David Life and Sharon Gannon, Rod Stryker, Doug Keller, and Dharma-Mittra.  His spiritual education comes also from a wide range of sages, most notably Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, Sri Swami Satchidananda, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, Bagala Baba, Bhagavati Sri Karunamayi Ma, Sri Amritanandamayi Ma (Ammachi), and Mother Meera.
