Lunar Lotus

Lunar Lotus is a vinyasa class designed with a slower pace. Lunar Lotus classes incorporate the full spectrum of vinyasa yoga in a meditative, measured lunar flow: moon salutations (step-back), standing poses, seated poses, twists, backbends, and inversions. The poses are linked with fluid movement leading through the postures and initiated by the breath. Lunar Lotus yoga helps you gain balance, flexibility and a state of mental focus and relaxation. Perfect for those who enjoy a more meditative practice while not compromising a challenging workout. Lunar Lotus is accessible to yogis relatively new to yoga yet offers a deep and satisfying practice to even advanced students by holding poses for longer intervalls, incorporating asana that deeply stretch and open the body, and developing a renewed sense of stillness. Appropriate for all levels.

FAQ

 

Are beginners welcome at Studio Serenity?

Absolutely! Because yoga at Studio Serenity allows you to move and discover at your own pace, you can participate in almost any class. Take it slowly at first. Try to complete 3-4 classes during your first 10 day trial. You'll build a base of strength and flexibility and will notice immediate changes with your physical body and mental emotional wellbeing.

 

How challenging will the classes be for me?

Your first classes may be difficult as you begin moving your body in new, healthy ways. You'll sweat, twist, lunge, reach and balance as you build strength and flexibility. But you control the intensity of each pose as you flow through the process. Soon, you'll experience small victories. Over time, your progress will be amazing!

 

What if I'm not all that flexible?

Actually, many people, especially athletes, aren't particularly flexible. Yoga is not about physical flexibility. With time, yoga will contribute a dimension of flexibility to everything you do. Meanwhile, we encourage you to develop a flexible mind. Just let go. Focus on breathing, sweating and moving. Allow each yoga movement to release tension, dissolve brittleness and blockage, and naturally expand your range of motion.

 

 

 

 


 
 
 

 

Yoga For Beginners Workshop

Yoga For Beginners Workshop is a 90 minute introductory workshop held once a month to vinyasa flow yoga. The instructor will be available after class to answer questions and to suggest resources for students who want to know more.

 

Jump Into Fire Lotus

Jump Into Fire Lotus is a 75-minute class designed to help students make the "jump through" from Lunar Lotus into Fire Lotus classes.  Perfect for those who are feeling unsure about attending a Fire Lotus yoga class and would more attention as to the correct alignment of postures, the proper breathing techniques, and to explore some of the advanced poses in Fire Lotus yoga classes.
